Washing Machine Falls, Glen Brittle, Isle of Skye, Scotland

There are few places more magical, more inspirational, more stirring than the utterly spellbinding series of waterfalls on the Glen Brittle river on the Isle of Skye, including the iconic Fairy Pools and this wonderful waterfall affectionately nicknamed the Washing Machine Falls. One of the joys in photographing this particular waterfall is the wonderful channel that not only contains some gorgeous boulders and rocks but the colour of the water within the channel is a stunning shade of green. I have visited this place so many times and yet the sense of anticipation you experience during the thirty minute wander down and then up the trail that leads you to some of the finest small waterfalls, aqua green water plunge pools and even an underwater arch the UK has to offer is palpable. The geology in this area is stunning with a million compositions of a million images to capture.
