Capture the glory of the Outer Hebrides
So many great locations to photograph on Harris and Lewis
All my Harris and Lewis photography workshops and tours have been created with landscape photography in mind for the beginner and intermediate photographer. I’ll be on hand to help you make the best images possible in a professional, friendly and enjoyable manner.
Isles of Harris and Lewis
The Isle of Harris and Lewis is like no-where else in Scotland, or the rest of the UK for that matter. It is genuinely one of the most remarkable places I have visited and those who also visited the island with me, say the same. The Isle of Harris and Lewis in the Outer Hebrides offers some of the most remarkable scenery and is perfect for learning landscape photography. The experience of standing on a remote golden beach while looking across the turquoise coloured waters of the Atlantic Ocean is one that will stay with you forever. Desolation, wilderness and a true sense of freedom are just some of the words that convey what this island is all about, and I love running my Harris and Lewis photography workshops.
A Diverse Landscape
This island measures just 80 miles from the south of Harris to the north of Lewis. The variety of scenery is staggering and waiting to be captured on camera. From the towering cliffs and huge sea stacks of Mangersta and the Butt of Lewis to the gently sloping stunning beaches of Luskentyre, Sielibost, Horgabost and Hushinish. From the wonderful Black House Village to the salt marshes of Northton and finally from the abandoned cottages by the roadside to the world famous and iconic 5,000 year old standing stones of Callanish.
Use of Filters
During your time with me, we will work closely to ensure that you receive whatever assistance you need to have the experience of a lifetime. I’ll offer all advice needed regarding the technical elements of how to use your camera through to how to compose dynamic and exciting images.
Filters are an integral part of landscape photography and on my workshops we will cover this extensively. As an official Kase Filters partner, you will be given the opportunity to use my full range of Kase filters including advice on how and when to use them.
