Faroe Islands Photography Workshops & Tours
Breathtaking out of this world landscapes
Photograph the spectacular Faroe Islands
My Faroe Islands photography workshops and tours have been created with landscape photography in mind for the beginner and intermediate photographer. This photo tour is run solely by James Kelly and he will offer you the perfect opportunity to capture amazing landscapes, seascapes, sea stacks and the incredible rugged scenery and towering cliffs you can find throughout these islands, which are like a land lost in time.
The Real Jurassic Park
Part of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroes are a self-governing group of 18 small islands located between Scotland, Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The Faroe Islands are like a land locked in time. Their remote location has ensured a way of life that is unique, and traditions that have been allowed to remain untouched by modern influences. One might be forgiven for expecting to see dinosaurs roaming here.
A Wild and Untamed Land
The Faroe Islands’ isolated location and exposure to the ferocity of the North Atlantic weather has given rise to wild and untamed landscapes, including towering cliffs dropping down on one side at almost vertical angles to the tumultuous sea below, while on the inland side they slope off to lush green valleys, fjords, and cascading waterfalls.
Exquisite Light
The weather here is as dramatic as the landscape it has created. It can be unpredictable, with frequent rain and mist contributing to the mystical atmosphere and producing the most exquisite light you could ever imagine.
If you think Iceland is amazing, then you’ll be blown away by the Faroes.
Northern Lights
Of course their northern location and remoteness, free from light pollution also makes the Faroe Islands a superb place for photographing the dancing, mesmerising Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
Come and photograph this mystical, magical light show against the wonderful uniqueness of the Faroese coastline.
Iconic Sea Stacks
The Faroe Islands are known for their stunning and distinctive sea stacks, which are towering rock formations that rise dramatically from the sea along the coastline. Created by millions of years of geological processes, including volcanic activity, erosion, and the relentless pounding of the North Atlantic waves, these iconic sea stacks are a majestic sight and a wonderful illustration of the raw power of the Atlantic Ocean as it meets the land.
