This four day, four night Lake District landscape photography workshop during the autumn period is the perfect time of the year to visit the recently awarded UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The colours of the trees and leaves are changing to gorgeous oranges, reds, and yellows and the days are getting cooler with the possibility of hoar frost. For landscape photography, it is just about perfect. It is quiet, peaceful and allows you to connect with nature in your own time free from the hustle and bustle of the summer visitors. Sunrise times are manageable (7.15am) allowing us to be on location for the start of the day before returning to either the house or a local cafe for a hearty breakfast. Autumn in the Lake District is a very magical time indeed.
During our four days, we shall be visiting the stunning areas of Ullswater, Derwentwater, Rydal, Coniston, and the Langdales. From watching the warm golden glow of the setting sun as it lights up the sky with its pink hues over Ashness Landing Pier on Derwentwater to capturing the early morning light at the standing stones of the 5,000 year old stone circle at Castlerigg. From witnessing the beautiful and elegant wooden steamers moored up at Derwentwater to watching the light slowly illuminate the peaks of the Langdale Pikes from the shoreline of Blea Tarn at sunrise. There are so many viewpoints to marvel at, that you will want to return again time and time again.
This four day, four night workshop is limited to just seven people as I prefer to keep the group small and friendly while allowing you enough time with me on location. I provide the accommodation (full self catering), dedicated professional 1-2-1 tuition, and transport between locations in a modern and comfortable nine-seater minibus. I hope that you can join me.

Workshop November 2017
Attended one of Melvin’s workshops in Scotland. It was a tremendous experience and one I can sincerely recommend. Melvin has a huge passion and enthusiasm for photography. Looks after each and every one of his students and leaves no stone unturned to make sure you get the shot. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and returned home with awesome images. Thanks a million Melvin, until our next workshop, take care.

Great Workshop February 2017Â
I recently attended a Glencoe workshop with Melvin and had a wonderful time. He is a dedicated photographer and does not overbook his courses so that each participant gets his detailed attention at every location. He ensured each of us got lovely shots and learnt a lot which encourages each participant to go forward with their photography journey. I would have no hesitation in recommending Melvin to anyone wishing to learn more about landscape photography.

Want to learn how to shoot landscapes, need some help with Photoshop? Melvin is your man February 2017
Melvin has an infectious passion for photography whether it be rain, wind, snow or sunshine. I have yet to see this man stop smiling. He really does love his job and he wants you to enjoy your time on the workshop. When you arrive at a location he makes sure everyone is setup and doesn’t have any problems with how to take the shot. He has the patience of a saint and he explains it in a way that you can understand.
