Assynt and Inverpolly is a stunning part of the west coast of Scotland. The one big advantage of this region is that it is not overrun by visitors and photographers alike which allows a unique opportunity to experience untold amounts of peace and quiet. You can quite often find yourself alone with just your thoughts and camera.
Assynt also provides three main mountains (known as Grahams) and they are all wonderfully isolated in the landscape allowing you to capture wide open vistas with all three peaks of Suilven, Cùl Mòr and the most famous in the area, Stac Pollaidh, in one image.

They all take centre stage and shine in the wonderful Scottish light that is so often present on the west coast. You will also get an opportunity to visit some of the finest beaches in Scotland too, Clachtoll, Achmelvich and Achnahaird.

Clachtoll is without doubt the most dramatic as it features some of the most impressive striated rock formations in the UK along with the iconic triangular Spilt Rock that lies isolated in the water. The beaches of Achmelvich and Achnahaird are a combination of golden sand and interesting rocks and coastline, especially Achmelvich which also features its very own ‘mini castle’ that overlooks the ocean.

Our base for the five nights will be a gorgeous, spacious seven bedroom home by the sea at Clashnessie, just a five minute drive north of Clachtoll. This allows us to be perfectly positioned for many of the locations that we will be visiting. Assynt and Inverpolly have quickly become one of our favourite places in the UK to visit with a camera. With this in mind, we are genuinely excited to be running a five day photography tour to Assynt and Inverpolly.
