Largest Island in Greece
The beautiful island of Crete is the largest Island in Greece, and quite frankly the most photogenic. It’s located at the southern edge of the Aegean Sea where the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa meet.
The coastline is characterised by its fine sandy beaches surrounded by rocky cliffs and high ledges overlooking beautiful coves and inlets.

Classic Greek Scenery
On Crete you will find classic Greek scenery such as this famous white chapel sitting on a rocky ledge at Georgioupolis. We will also photograph many historic fortresses and churches.
On this photography workshop, there will be plenty of vibrant scenes to photograph in places like Heraklion, Rethymno, and Chania.Â
Fabulous Sunsets & Sunrises
As you may well imagine, Crete offers great opportunities for both sunrise and sunset photoshoots.
We will be up early each morning ready to capture the dawn twilight and rising sun in a variety of great locations.
We will end each day too at equally alluring locations for sunset, including the beaches of Balos, Falarsana, and Elafonsi.
Colourful Cities & Villages
A walk down any street in Crete will provide numerous opportunities to take photographs of the lovely colourful Mediterranean architecture that exists here.
We will also visit the many lovely little seaside villages and photograph their harbours.
Crete is my absolute favourite of all the Greek Islands and encompasses everything that a landscape photographer could wish for in one compact island. All locations are within easy reach of our accommodation.
