Sunset at Salford Quays Photography Workshop

Sunday 8th March 2020 JUST ANNOUNCED

Salford Quays and the Media City offers some of the most photogenic opportunities for those who love to photograph architectural images both during the day and at night.

This workshop starts at 1pm and finishes at 7pm giving you plenty of time to see and shoot this iconic section of Manchester looking at its best. Both the BBC and ITV Studios are located there as well as many other buildings and structures such as the hugely impressive Imperial War Museum, Millennium Bridge, the Swing Bridge, the bronze mirrored ‘Gotham style’ Quay West building, the Lowry Theatre, the University of Salford and the latest building, the golden The Alchemist. bar and restaurant.

The aim of this workshop is to concentrate on architectural form, shapes, patterns and panoramas of the whole complex while capturing some wonderful light and colour. Long exposure techniques also work very well here as you have an opportunity to smooth out the water of the Manchester canal which surrounds the whole area. As an official Kase Filter UK Sales Agent, I will have available my full range of filters for you to try if you wish.

Places are limited to six and free return transport in my Volvo XC60 is available from Preston if required (max three seats available).

*** Please note that I hold an official Media Pass that allows permits me to run workshops at Media City (as it is private land) as well as seeking official permission from the Imperial War Museum that allows me/my clients to photograph the building from within the grounds ***
