Come and enjoy the Yorkshire Dales in the springtime

6 available

The Yorkshire Dales is a magical place to spend a day wandering around with your camera and this workshop encompasses three wonderful locations with very different subject matters.

Our day will start with photographing the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct which will be beautifully lit by the sun. This is such an impressive structure to both see and shoot. Built in 1875, this 400 metre long viaduct is made up of twenty four 104ft high arches which tower above you. It is slightly curved which adds to the composition if capturing it from either end. There is a large section of limestone pavement nearby which makes for great foreground interest. After lunch, we will drive to the back of Ingleton Falls and up the hill to Twistleton Scar where some wonderful craggy and weathered Hawthorn trees await us and after a 20 minute walk, some amazing erratic boulders.

To finish our day off we will drive to Settle and in particular Scaleber Falls. This is to my mind the most beautiful waterfall in the area. Hidden from the road and located in a gorgeous small copse, the falls drop down 20 feet with a stunning rock wall covered in lush green moss as a stunning backdrop. All in all, there is something for everyone on this very popular one day workshop. Places are strictly limited to five for this workshop and free return transport is available from Preston if required.
