Landscape photography workshops and tours in Assynt and Inverpolly, Scotland

Sold Out

Description

This photography workshop is SOLD OUT. I will be announcing all of my 2019 workshops shortly.

I had wanted to visit Assynt and Inverpolly for many years. The images that I saw coming from this part of western Scotland showed a stunning landscape and one that I wanted to photograph for myself. Having visited, I can confirm that it has quickly become one of my favourite places in the UK to visit with a camera. With this in mind, I am genuinely delighted and excited to be running a five day photography tour to Assynt and Inverpolly this coming November.

Why decide to come with me? Well firstly, it’s just so beautiful and quiet. The area is not overrun with photographers and you can quite often find yourself alone with just your camera and thoughts. The other thing I love about Assynt and Inverpolly is that the main mountains (munros) are all wonderfully isolated allowing you to capture wide open vistas with the several gorgeous mountains of Suilven, Cùl Mòr and the most famous mountain in the area, Stac Pollaidh in shot. They all take centre stage and shine in the wonderful Scottish autumnal light and colour. We will also get to visit some of the finest beaches in Scotland, Clactoll, Achmelvic and Achnahaird,

Our accommodation for this workshop is a beautiful five bedroom self catering house near Lochinver. This ensures that we are perfectly positioned to venture north and south while reducing driving time and increasing time spent on location (which is very important to you so it is very important to me). There are four bedrooms available for those who attend. Two doubles and two twins. With the tour limited to just five people, that requires two people sharing one of the twin rooms.

There are two prices available depending on whether you wish to have your own room or are happy to share and reduce your tour cost.

Tour Prices

  • £795 (your own room)
  • £650 (twin shared room)

As this is self catering, you will be required to provide your own breakfasts and lunches and we will venture down into Lochinver for an evening meal at the local pub.

Transport to Assynt
and back from Preston is available in a new and comfortable Ford Tourneo nine seater minibus and is priced at just £75pp (fee covers the return journey from Preston).

The workshop starts at 6pm Sunday 18th and finishes 10am Friday 23rd November 2018 but I will be leaving Preston at 8am on the Sunday 18th to head up to Assynt if anyone would like a lift. It is an eight journey including a couple of stop offs for refreshments and toilet breaks.  You can take a train to Preston (where I live) and stay over on the Saturday evening of the 17th November and I shall collect you at 8am on the Sunday morning. Included in the tour are five nights self catering accommodation, full transport between locations, nightly image review and post processing sessions and dedicated 1-2-1 tuition. Everything you need for a fantastic four days of photography in the Western Scottish Highlands.
