Lofoten

Come and join me as we discover Lofoten in Norway during the peak of the season and the possibility of the northern lights putting on a show in the sky really is one of the best places to enjoy a few days of landscape photography. From the rugged peaks of Lilandstinden and Olstinden that dominate the stunning coastal villages of Hamnoy and Reine to the iconic red rorbuer fisherman cabins by the water’s edge that line the coastline of western Loften.

The beautiful white sandy beaches of Haukland, Skagsanden, Myrland and Uttakleiv will provide us with endless possibilities to capture those special moments and because the light is much softer and lower in the sky at this time of the year, the scenery is beautifully lit from the low position of the sun from dawn until dusk, giving us plenty of time to maximise our opportunities.

Lofoten is widely considered to be one of the world’s top ten destinations for landscape and seascape photography. With the seven islands connected by small bridges, this archipelago provides so much variety for the landscape photographer with views so inspiring, that it will be difficult to know which direction to point your camera at. The weather will play a huge part in what, where and when we will photograph with potential for dramatic fronts to come in and create fast changing but spectacular light. I cannot wait to get out there and I hope you can join me too.
